14 Days of DMB - Countdown to West Palm - "Warehouse," The Gorge, 2002

"Warehouse," like "Two Step," is a song that wasn't that popular off the studio album but became a gem at live shows, best known for it stop-time intro and crowd chant, a good example of which can be seen above. I'm always switching out my dream setlist, but "Warehouse" is always a constant. With the exceptions of the first quiet notes of "Two Step" and the fuse-lighting of "Ants Marching," nothing will get the crowd going fast than the stop-time intro. As the song has evolved over time, the music to "Louie Louie" has made its way in toward the end, adding the festive, rambling goofiness of the song. Finally, The Warehouse is the name of DMB's fan association, of which I am a low-ranking, disorganized member, and one thing the band has done better than any I'm aware is selling its tickets - especially the premium seats - through The Warehouse and limiting the number each member can purchase.
