The baffling Mainstream Medea (Medea) and Hollywood response to the arrest of Roman Polanski isn’t quite so baffling. The short answer is many in the Medea and Hollywood are degenerates, deviants and “educated” in the ways of relativism. The long answer is rape, child molestation and jokes about such things are perfectly appropriate so long as being endured by a Conservative and/or perpetrated by a Liberal.

The Duke Lacrosse scandal got things going. I don’t know if the players were politically Conservative or not, but Liberals froth at the mouth when thinking about the beautiful political hay to be made regarding the idea a bunch of privileged white boys raping a black stripper, which is why they were hanged in public effigy by the Medea and Duke faculty, even though they were guilty of nothing more than … being college athletes.

Fast-forward to David Letterman’s obscene and wildly inappropriate joke about Sarah Palin’s daughter Willow being impregnated by Alex Rodriguez when the Gov. Palin and Willow visited New York, i.e. isn’t it funny to think that a child of Gov. Palin being statutorily raped by a noted Yankee? Letterman attempted an apology, then continued mocking Gov. Palin, which he continues to this day (after my post yesterday, a reader pointed out in the comments that Letterman’s Top 10 was about Gov. Palin’s upcoming book, Going Rogue.

Things began to get, shall we say, gross when The Medea collectively lost its mind after James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles punk’d not one, not two, not three, but four different ACORN offices offered tax, legal and real estate advice on how to set up a house of child prostitution. The Medea were not concerned with the importation of El Salvadoran 13-year-old girls for the purposes of child exploitation, nope, they were concerned with whether or not Giles and O’Keefe broke any laws with their hidden camera coup; whether or not they were funded by FOX News, Glenn Beck, Andrew Breitbart and various other bogeymen near and dear to the American Left. The Medea showed no concern with following up with ACORN on an office by office basis to see what ACORN’s position is regarding assisting pimps on how to properly evade taxes while exploiting children. Nope, they were too wrapped up in the same method used by Mike Wallace at 60 Minutes and hundreds of other investigative journalists now being used by – gasp – lily white Conservatives! The horror! The horror…

And now, the hysterical outbreak of sobriety on the part of the public that is not related to the Hollywood Entertainment establishment. With a few exceptions, the support of Polanski by Hollywood, certain liberal portals (HuffPo, to name but one) and even some Medea notables has come as a case of moral shock-and-awe to the rest of the country. For a change over at HuffPo, it’s refreshing to see that average Liberals and Conservatives agree on something: playing a 13-year-old girl with alcohol, giving her a qualude and then forcing oral, vaginal and anal sex on her is not what people do in civilized society. Even in France, a place many Americans believe to be best described in Marquis de Sade’s 120 Days of Sodom, the French public and a growing number of politicians are aghast that people actually want the gifted degenerate to be set free without facing the justice he fled three decades ago.

I’m something of a libertine, a self-proclaimed hedonist and pleasure-seeker extraordinaire, yet even I don’t blink when being posed the question: is raping children wrong? Yes, raping children is wrong no matter the quality of the art or what’s in your heart. Polanski knew what he did was wrong when he did it, which is why the girl testified that after copulating in her rectal canal, Polanski told her that it was their secret and not to tell her mom.

I think most Liberals and Conservatives not certifiably insane would agree with me that child rape, joking about the rape of any children (especially those of the famous variety) or going along with the importation of children for multiple acts of for-profit child rape is wrong. These aren’t blurry lines, they’re not gray areas: child rape = wrong.

That’s really not difficult, is it?
